Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) or prepare your grill for indirect cooking.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
- Bring a large pot of water to a boil and parboil sweet potato cubes for 5–7 minutes until fork-tender.
- Drain and let the sweet potatoes cool slightly.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together brown sugar, maple syrup or honey, olive oil or melted butter, cinnamon, cayenne, and garlic powder.
- Toss parboiled sweet potato cubes in the glaze until evenly coated.
- Wrap glazed sweet potato cubes with bacon on skewers.
- Place skewers on a baking sheet or wire rack.
- Roast skewers in the oven for 25–30 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- Brush with any remaining glaze during the last 5 minutes of roasting.
- Serve warm with dipping sauces and garnish with fresh herbs or sea salt.
