Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a medium mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, sour cream (or mayonnaise), dill, and kosher salt. Blend until smooth and creamy.
  2. Slice the sandwich bread into even, square pieces. Spread the herbed cream cheese mixture on one side of each bread slice.
  3. Slice the English cucumber into thin rounds, about 1/8 inch thick, for consistent layering.
  4. Layer the cucumber slices over half of the bread slices, then place the remaining bread slices on top, spread side down.
  5. Trim off the crusts and cut the assembled sandwiches into quarters.
  6. Arrange on a serving platter and garnish with dill or thin cucumber slices. Chill for about 15 minutes before serving.
