  • 1.25 cups Milk Dairy alternatives can be used for lactose-free options.
  • 2 tbsp Dijon Mustard Whole grain mustard provides a robust flavor.
  • 3 tbsp Parmesan cheese Optional but enhances the dish.

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Prepare your workspace and gather ingredients.
  2. Place the chicken breasts between plastic wrap and pound them to about ½ inch thick. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Layer two slices of Swiss cheese and two to three slices of ham on each chicken breast. Roll tightly and secure with toothpicks.
  4. Whisk together the binding mixture and set aside.
  5. Dip the chicken rolls into the binding mixture and roll in the panko breadcrumbs.
  6. Place the chicken rolls on a baking tray and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and reaching an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
  7. Melt butter in a saucepan, add flour, and gradually whisk in milk. Stir in Dijon mustard and Parmesan cheese, and season to taste.
  8. Remove the chicken from the oven, let it rest, and then slice. Drizzle with sauce and garnish with herbs.
