- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your 9x5-inch loaf pan thoroughly with baking spray.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine melted butter, vegetable oil, brown sugar, eggs, water, and vanilla extract. Whisk until smooth and creamy.
- In a separate bowl, mix together flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and cloves. Stir until evenly combined.
- Gently add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, folding until just combined.
- Peel and slice ripe pears into ¼-inch thick slices. Fold them into the batter or arrange on top.
