Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350℉ (180℃) and line a muffin tin with 12 paper liners.
  2. Melt chopped chocolate with butter in the microwave, stirring every 20 seconds until smooth.
  3. Sift together flour, cocoa powder, and salt in a small bowl and set aside.
  4. Beat eggs with sugar in a large mixing bowl until pale and thick, about 4 minutes.
  5. Gently blend the cooled chocolate mixture into the egg and sugar mixture.
  6. Fold the sifted dry ingredients into the chocolate mixture until no dry flour is visible.
  7. Spoon the batter into the muffin cups, filling each about ¾ full.
  8. Add optional toppings and bake for 13-15 minutes until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
  9. Cool in the tin for at least 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
