- Preheat your oven to 350℉ (180℃) and line a muffin tin with 12 paper liners.
- Melt chopped chocolate with butter in the microwave, stirring every 20 seconds until smooth.
- Sift together flour, cocoa powder, and salt in a small bowl and set aside.
- Beat eggs with sugar in a large mixing bowl until pale and thick, about 4 minutes.
- Gently blend the cooled chocolate mixture into the egg and sugar mixture.
- Fold the sifted dry ingredients into the chocolate mixture until no dry flour is visible.
- Spoon the batter into the muffin cups, filling each about ¾ full.
- Add optional toppings and bake for 13-15 minutes until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
- Cool in the tin for at least 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
