Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine chocolate cookie crumbs, melted unsalted butter, and granulated sugar until resembling wet sand. Press into a 9-inch springform pan and bake for 10 minutes. Allow to cool.
  3. In a large bowl, beat softened cream cheese until smooth. Gradually mix in sugar, sour cream, and vanilla until combined. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each.
  4. Gently sift in cocoa powder, then add orange zest and juice, mixing until just combined. Optionally fold in chocolate chips.
  5. Pour the filling into the cooled crust and bake for 55-60 minutes or until the center is set but slightly jiggly.
  6. Turn off the oven, crack the door open, and cool the cheesecake gradually for about 1 hour. Then transfer to room temperature and chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  7. To serve, remove the springform pan, slice and serve with whipped cream and orange slices or berries.
