Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Drain the canned mixed fruit cocktail, crushed pineapple, and cherry pie filling thoroughly using a slotted spoon. Allow the fruits to sit in a fine-mesh strainer for about 5 minutes.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, gently combine the drained mixed fruit, crushed pineapple, and cherry pie filling. Use a spatula to fold the fruits together softly.
  3. Cover the mixed fruit base with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  4. Just before serving, slice the fresh bananas into bite-sized pieces and add them to the chilled fruit mixture. Gently fold them in.
  5. Add mini marshmallows and shredded coconut flakes to the fruit mixture and stir gently to distribute.
