Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch round or bundt cake pan with butter or non-stick spray.
  2. Peel, core, and chop the apples into bite-sized pieces. Toss with cinnamon and a teaspoon of sugar, if desired.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together melted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract for 2-3 minutes. Stir in yogurt or sour cream.
  4. In a separate bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  5. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  6. Carefully fold in the apple slices and chopped nuts.
  7. Pour the batter into the greased pan and bake for 50-60 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
