  • 8 oz Spaghetti or substitute with udon or rice noodles
For the Sauce
  • 1 lb Ground Beef can substitute with ground chicken or mushrooms
  • 4 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp Fresh Ginger, grated fresh is key
  • 3 tbsp Soy Sauce can use tamari for gluten-free
  • 1.5 tbsp Chili Oil adjust to taste
  • 1 tbsp Brown Sugar substitute with honey or maple syrup if desired
  • 1 tbsp Rice Vinegar
  • 1 tsp Sesame Oil add at the end
For Garnishing
  • 2 stalks Green Onions, chopped
  • 1 tsp Sesame Seeds, optional

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Boil the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil, add spaghetti and cook until al dente for about 8-10 minutes. Reserve 1/4 cup pasta water, then drain.
  2. Cook the Ground Beef: Heat 1 tablespoon of cooking oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook ground beef for 5-7 minutes until browned. Drain excess fat and set aside.
  3. Sauté Aromatics: Reduce heat to medium, add garlic and ginger, and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Create the Sauce: Add soy sauce, chili oil, brown sugar, and rice vinegar to the skillet, stirring and simmering for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.
  5. Combine Noodles and Sauce: Add drained spaghetti to the skillet and toss with sauce. Adjust consistency with reserved pasta water as needed.
  6. Finish and Serve: Turn off heat, add sesame oil, toss spaghetti, and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds. Serve hot.
